Sad case, shoghicp delayed the release of 1.7 very badly... Im thinking that, will Pocketmine just end like this? Looks, all developer seems to be more inactive and inactive day by day on Pocketmine... First, William Teder, who contribute to Pocketmine left the community, Next, shoghicp seems to be inactive.. And theres still many serious bugs exsit on Pocketmine... And its becoming even worst with non-official built PM 1.7... I know, developers have thier own life... but... maybe just take a little time to maintain Pocketmine... xD It will be really great? Most likely, many server owners will go on MiNET if Pocketmine continued a slow-speed development... And at last, Pocketmine will walk into history..
Even though PocketMine MIGHT walk into history, that doesn't mean the community will just leave. It'll live on. Maybe someone else might pickup the project again. You never know.
I hope so, but take a look on the current situation of Pocketmine... I have a vision that Pocketmine will be replaced by MiNET if Pocketmine continued like this...
I know that, but do u guys saw a fact? WHEN will he return? And when he reuturned, will most server owners go on MiNET and no more Pocketmine? Here's the key
I know... LOL... I didn't blame him at all... Just asking, will Pocketmine just end like this if this kind of situation still be continued... :/
If you pay more attention, you would realize that @williamtdr had never contributed to PcoketMine directly.
See these: https://twitter.com/shoghicp/status/661557916114243585 https://twitter.com/shoghicp/status/661469468229550080 Moreover, MiNET is not an ideal solution for Minecraft servers. For instance, it has a poor API that cannot allow many plugins to work together fluently (I just heard that; I never seriously looked into it).
Although, Shoghi MAY start working on PM, late November, other staff like @Humerus also need to be more active, there hasn't been any updates passed and no new plugins approved since CapsLimit.
I dont know, because pocketmine likes bukkit, and in this time another developers developing new server softwares like MiNet, Nukkit. And pocketmine is not super fast, because its PHP. What about Nukkit, what runs on Java and MiNet on C#?
we still have hope for they are other who contribute to pm(github) the main problem is most likely they wont have write access so all pull wont be merged
That fork was bad. It was committed from preprocessed files, and the contributions are all messed up. You guys really should make that a fork and work on it so that you can send a pull request in the future when it is usable.
