    Hello!

    Update v1.0.1 (10/05/2015)
    - Loosened rate-limit settings. It should now be able to be used unless you are really spamming. Please let me know if you still run into issues.
    - Updated the server it runs on. For now HTTPS has been disabled. I will set it up in a few days!

    ---

I have a new project to announce today :) And the best part of it is that it is already fully completed and usable out of the box!

The project in question is WebRcon.io. Yep, it's an RCON Client. You've probably heard RCON before, but found its lack of clients appalling. WebRcon.io is a web based RCON client for server admins to easily remotely manage their server, without having to go on to their game etc. just to kick a player.

Yep, it allows you to manage your server remotely, as if you were right in front of the console. (well, sort of.)

    Here's a preview!
    webrcon_demo.PNG

I made this out of frustration of the lack of simple easy to use RCON clients - most of them are clunky, outdated, and last updated in 2008 for Windows only... This version however, is web based. That means it doesn't care which operating system you're on, what version of Windows you have, etc. etc.

    How to use:
    • Enable RCON on your PocketMine server. You can do this by modifying enable-rcon on server.properties.
    • Edit the RCON password. Make sure it is really strong! I would recommend against your personal password as this has to be stored in plain text due to PocketMine.
    • Visit WebRcon.io when you want to manage your server.
    • Enter your server's details, and use it just like you would a regular PocketMine console!
    • Donate Bitcoin to the address on the web page :)
Just a little note on the security side, you have to enter your RCON password to be able to use this (obviously). Unfortunately due to javascript (and my JS skills) limitation, the commands, server details and RCON password are relayed through the API server. Rest assured though, all connection to this site is properly secured and we do not keep logs of anything what so ever. All it does is relay the RCON commands because Javascript can't do it by itself. The only things that we "store" are your pageview and events for Google Analytics, and web server logs.

The website displays advertisements to pay for necessary server, domain and certificate fees, but it's not enough so Bitcoin donations are always welcome!

Also, if any of you could cross post this to any game server forum etc. where RCON is used, I would really appreciate it.

Nice!!! Would you like me to make an android app for it? :3 (P.s is there a way to make the delay smaller? I don't mind anyway! :D)

If you're talking about the delay between lines of initial text, then yes that is modifiable. If you are talking about the delay between command send and response, I think that's due to the API server parsing the result.

    And maybe :p

Currently a new RCON connection is made for a command, but that will be fixed once the site gets enough traffic. Currently the server load is fine.

    Oh whoops, will do ASAP!

It's hosted in Dallas, US on PagodaBox. The website loads in under 1s for me. The server Authorisation also shouldn't take longer than 500ms. Which load delay are you talking about?

Definitely doesn't happen to me. Can you open up Chrome DevTools or similar and measure the Network times so I can see which file is the cause of delay?

    Glad you like it!

Yep, it should work for all game servers supporting the standard RCON protocol. If it doesn't let me know.
