Discussion To have your plugin featured: It must have an icon.

What do you think about this?
What about the dev's that don't have time to find/create an image?

In my oppinion its a dumb reason not to accept a plugin.

But without image, they cannot be recognised instantly.

I Made my own icon. ( ServerLoveMCPE ) I used the Nether Core to represent 2 things, and the heart to represent Love.

Nether Core = Server + MCPE
Heart = Love.

Add them together, ServerLoveMCPE. All good icons have a back story

you cant just use Photoshop for 5 mins to make an image?

Not everyone has photoshop. And some people don't know how to create a nice/fitting icon.
And some guys upload plugins via their phone.
Thats the way i want to lead the discussion, currently it goes the wrong way.

I use PS Touch on my iPhone it was discontinued but i still use it to make thumbnails and I know what its like to not have a PC I run everything on 2 phones No PC

in my opinion, if you have time to make a image, you have time to make plugins, or even upload it to PocketMine

It says to be "featured". It never said that plugins without icons would be removed. Just that it won't be featured.
It is reasonable though. The main reason is that if it is featured, it will appear in the large icons in the plugin repo, and it is not that good to have your plugin with

It is not hard to make an icon anyway. You can Google Search for most cases, and sometimes with some basic image editing. For example, the NailedKeyboard icon was created by cropping and combining two images I found from Google Search, using Microsoft Paint, one of the worst/simplest image editors in the world. Unless you write code extremely fast, the time required to create a plugin that is good enough to be featured is apparently much more than searching for at least a relevant picture. (Yes, if you don't even have Microsoft Paint, as long as you have working Internet connection and ability to download and upload files, which you must have to create and submit a plugin that is worth being featured, you can just type the plugin name into Google image search, set Search Tools -> Type -> Clip art and find a random image that you like, or just the first one if you don't want to choose.

Or, if you don't like Google, try Bing/Yahoo/etc. Ask @Intyre if you are interested in knowing more search engines - he is always the best at this.

I think plugins should be featured without a image if your a known member (200 Posts) but if your a member that just started and only has 5 posts I don't think it should be featured without a image but if there a well known member they deserve to have it featured without a image

Could you explain the relationship between plugin icons and the popularity of a developer, or between plugin featuring and the popularity of a developer?

I feel that they might do this because without a image the plugin is not fully 'identifiable'

I personally upload plugins on phone, so I say its easy to make an icon, just download PicsArt...

I think if the player has 150 posts, then the feature world be unlocked for n-player to upload a plugin. I dont know Xenforo, so i dont know if its possible.
But do you agree eith the thought of this?
