That's normal, SimpleAuth has not yet been updated, so these errors are expected.

The server gets 5 players and any other players trying to join gets timeout error

I've had the same error once before. Try changing different settings of SimpleAuth, and perhaps deleting and installing the plugin again.

Maybe it works when install SimpleAUthHelper by aliuly too?
