Why not make it into a one page website and stick in some font awesome?
How would a one-page site be possible? lol
I did add icons to the navbar but never uploaded a screenshot.
He's saying that because his websites only 1 page. It's really cool.
I recently finished my one pager:
I see... but, again, how would that work with my website?
One page design only works when you want to display lots of information on your home page which I don't.
1)About Server (Include pictures etc)
3)Donation Packages (Using price boxes)
4)Application (Staff/Or otherwise) / Contact forum
5) News (Twitter feed ? )
Just some suggestions for what could do for say.
I'll toss over the design and model it for you when I get a chance as a gift if you want, kinda bored xD
I actually prefer my current setup. I'd rather use themed Bootstrap because it is way easier to customize and, IMO, looks better. I'm really looking for suggestions to improve my current theme and add more features to the website.
I'm trying to make my server website as professional as possible and the overused one-page design does not convey that feeling.
I'd disagree with the looking better but if that's still your opinion, I use Flat UI for my WHMCS bootstrap theme.
My website's structure is: unauthenticated index view -> user login -> authenticated index view
But yet you were wondering how a one page website was possible? xD That would convey you already knew what a one pager was xD
I guess I mean it looks better for what I'm doing. I wouldn't want to load my whole site + server query + forums + github API in one page because it would take forever to load. Also, authentication would work weird because there is only one page.
I know what a one-page website was. I was asking how it would work with my website structure. One page website is the new Bootstrap! I own a couple of one-page templates on Envato.
I wouldn't recommend forums off a one pager, what I really meant was maybe put the main information you want to display onto your page and leave your forums to another page entirely. Sure it shouldn't be more than a few dozen kilobytes anyway for a one pager xD And maybe hypothetically if you had forums on the one page, you could only load them as a user scrolled to that area of the page.
Maybe like this :
One Pager (Authenticated) People wouldn't mind maybe another half a second of loading (Not even)
Donations (As to keep track par user)
Contact (To avoid spam by making people register)
One pager (Un-authenticated) Keeping size to a minimal
Maybe load github api here ?
I might add more information to my unauthenticated index view (aka login/home page). I probably shouldn't lock everything up behind authentication. I might display the latest posts from the announcements (admin-only) forum category.
There you have it, now we're really not talking about one pager which after listening to what you require wouldn't be the best for two separate views. (Auth / Un-auth) I find the one pager good for selling and display all my information in a neat and professional way. But yea, remember you're trying to sell your server to people to get them to come in the heart of things.
The Github API is very slow, so I prefer it on it's own page. I'm going to keep using Bootstrap multi-page because it's hard to even display the users page or the main dash.
