I host on OVH. They're a pretty good service, been hosting on them for a few months :)

Oh, and this thread is about running a lag free server, so I think it would be okay in that case xD

Oh well lol. It's a FortaCloud Dedicated server. They have really good prices. The cheapest you could get a dedicated server is for $30 - Dell Server: Intel Xeon Quad Core + 8 core CPU. 4 GB RAM and unlimited bandwidth @ 100mb/s.

More precisely, others are massive masses of idiots using this thing that was not supposed to be a server software for production.

What I think is that the server should be written in the language the game is written. So...that will enhance and optimize the server. (Just like Bukkit and MCPC are written in Java).

Java is better but still not good. The best language for an MCPE server is C++ because RakNet (the network engine used in MCPE) can be used without a wrapper or writing your own custom implementation of it like PocketMine does with RakLib. It also runs natively, thus is much faster then Java and much, much, much faster then PHP. I don't see what the deal is with people wanting servers in Java, there really aren't any advantages over PHP other then a slight speed difference and a guarantee that they will run universally.

Exactly. Also I had mentioned MCPC and not MCPE. And I also meant that servers coded in C++ would work smoother and faster for mcpe (of course if coded neatly) since mcpe is written in C++

Ah, my bad I misread your post. I thought you were saying MCPE servers should be written in Java.

Actually, nowadays, Java is almost as fast as C++ (less difference now).

But it's still better just because RakNet will work with it.

Yeah but it's a pain in the ass to write a wrapper for RakNet.
