Sorry, been busy... don't turn the data-provider off for simply auth, that is entirely independent of Pureperms

So then it needs a separate mysql db, not the mysql db I am using for PurPerms?

I created a separate db called SimpleAuth, but when I try to connect it just keeps saying:

    Code:
[Server thread/CRITICAL]: [SimpleAuth] Invalid MySQL settings

    Code:
    dataProvider: mysql

    #For MySQL:
    dataProviderSettings:
    host: 127.0.0.1
    port: 3306
    user: *****
    password: *****
    database: SimpleAuth
    #dataProviderSettings: []

    Any ideas?

I removed all of the plugins and start over. Only plugins in folder now are SimpleAuth and SimpleAuthHelper. Changed config data provider to mysql and set the following:

    Code:
    dataProvider: mysql

    #For MySQL:
    #dataProviderSettings:
    host: "127.0.0.1"
    port: 3306
    user: "*****"
    password: "*****"
    database: "SimpleAuth"
    #dataProviderSettings: []

and now I get the following when I fire up the server.

    Code:
    [07:15:07] [Server thread/INFO]: Loading pocketmine.yml...
[07:15:07] [Server thread/INFO]: Loading server properties...

    PHP:
    dataProviderMySQL
    #For MySQL:
    dataProviderSettings:

    host"127.0.0.1"

    port3306
     user
    "user"

    password"xxxxx"

    database"simpleauth"
You need the spaces at the start of the lines with host, port etc for the plugin to read the data correctly (and this applies to all plugins). First you define the dataProvider as MySQL on one line, then define an array dataProviderSettings with the keys host, port etc and values "127.0.0.1".

Just exactly as I posted, but with the right spaces before host etc. If still not... paste it into http://codebeautify.org/yaml-validator and click Validate

Ok seems to be working now. I had to enable the hack for login, but register worked without the hack enabled. So then I added PurePerms, SimpleWarp, ManyWorlds and everything seems to be working now. I wonder what removing everything and getting SimpleAuth working first has to do with it? Thanks so much for your help @Jazzwhistle. I am going to try to run some other plugins like factions, etc. Perhaps I will call on you for help again sometime if you don't mind?

Glad you got it working, it's hard to tell what went wrong from a distance but yes, until you get auth working the rest can behave unexpectedly

Good morning all. First of all, great plugin, kudos to 64FF00.

I am pretty new to the whole PocketMine server scene, but I have a decent grasp on all of the programming.

I am having an issue with using PurePerms with MySQL. I am pretty sure I did everything correctly. I created a database to use, put my information in the config, but I don't see any of the groups in the database and it doesn't seem to be reading/writing anything at all. I tried adding a new group, but no luck. Can someone give me a little guidance on the issue? I feel like there is something I am missing. I verified that the MySQL is working; I use it for authentication with no problem. I double checked database name/user/pass.

    My code:

    # PurePerms by 64FF00 ([email protected], @@64FF00 for Twitter)

    ---

    data-provider: mysql

    default-language: en

    enable-multiworld-perms: false

    mysql-settings:
    host: 127.0.0.1
    port: 3306
    user: *****
    password: *****
    db: ****
    ...

Try enclosing everything except the port in quotes

I tried that just now. The database still shows that no tables are created after /addgroup test.

Do I manually need to set up the structure of the database?

    [10:43:11] [Server thread/WARNING]: [PurePerms] Provider %var0% does
NOT exist. Setting the data provider to default.

The issue was an outdated plugin from here. The github copy did the trick. Quotations weren't required.
