Is it possible to regen a single chunk (or a part of the map) ?

    Is it possible to regen a single chunk (or a part of the map). As i can do in bukkit, by deleting some region files ?

    I tried to delete some files in the chunk directory, but the chunk files were not created again and the server crashed
    Does it mean that the world is only generate one time at the server start ? there is no way to generate it again, and populate it again ?
