Hmm... guess we're going to be a while finding a name that everyone agrees with

Again, will cause great confusion. Especially the letters "R" and "P" have similar appearance, and in a passage about PocketMine you see RocketMine in the middle and in some discussion about RocketMine you see PocketMine and then in RocketMine source code you see occurrences of PocketMine everywhere. PocketMine and RocketMine will confuse everyone.

TL;DR: Want to know how confusing RocketMine will be? Just try to skim this post.

I always forget that British humour is often lost on the Internet!

Much as I like the idea of PM rising from the ashes, unless Shoghicp manifests himself I don't see that happening. The only good news I can see at the moment is that @Intyre has recently contributed some code directly to Genisys, which is now also officially recognising that it is a PM fork.

Eh, nope. He hasn't done anything to Genisys.

@Jazzwhistle yes you certainly did misunderstand. Actually, I committed that as his credentials, because it was his fix, and I copied it from the PM repo. I committed it as his credentials to ensure that the right person was credited. I really dislike it when people try to claim credit for others' work.

Shouldn't you do that like this?

    Code:
$ git commit -m "Cleaned UpdateBlockPacket" --author "Intyre <[email protected]>"

This is certainly going to cause less confusion.

@SOFe that's exactly what I did... it just shows up funny because it's GitLab

    How about anything beginning/ending with...
    • Mine_____
    • _____Craft
    • Mine_____PE
    • _____CraftPE

Align it very poignantly toward what its for and with the branding concept of Minecraft as best you can, then just have whatever you want for the name (or capitalization with PHP and UNIX in mind). That would be my best suggestion. Hell, you could call it "server" for all it really matters...
    • MineServerPE
    • serverCraftPE

@MCPEPIG Similar to yours, but I think we definitely need PE in the end and Mine in the beginning.

@17bhata Sorry, not meaning to steal Phoenix, just spur of the moment thought.

Thinking about it, the complete reversal of the Pocket and Mine and all the other convoluted names always had me looking in the wrong places for a server I could set up for private use.

@shoghicp previously agreed that PocketMine was a bad name.

I think we're getting a little off-topic here anyway. Weren't we supposed to be pitching/choosing PM's new name?

Why does it have to be ___Mine?

Also, we should also choose another block as a logo :D

How about the observer block? It's another MCPE exclusive block like the nether reactor

because it depends on the point of view.

The first person thinks about a Pocket____ name, the second person thinks about a ____Mine name and the third person thinks about a completely different name without Pocket or Mine in it

Blame @Intyre. I think he is responsible for the PocketMine community's falling apart, because he removed the nether reactor core, which is the symbolization of our core values!
    Code:
    commit 734736492a3cde756809b128195b1703948fbfd5
    Author: Intyre <[email protected]>
    Date: Mon Nov 23 21:56:38 2015 +0100

Added some creative items and removed nether reactor

Because he removed the nether reactor core, @shoghicp is unable to come back to work on PocketMine. According to this tweet, @shoghicp was originally going to come back to PocketMine in December 2015, but @Intyre removed the nether reactor core, which secretly hides @shoghicp's password to come back.

Why did @shoghicp make a commit on January 30 2016? It is because it was approximately 3 years (actually, can be rounded off to 364*3 days) since the first commit that NetherReactor.php was created, and magically he was unlocked for a short moment!

And obviously, as the logo of PocketMine, the nether reactor core represents the spirit of PocketMine-MP. After it is removed, the community fell apart. According to this tweet by @ImagicalMine, redstone support was added to ImagicalMine just after the the nether reactor core block was removed, and the first commit to Genisys was created about one month after that commit.

Wow! The removal of NetherReactor.php changed the world! This is seriously the commit that changed the world!
    [/RUMOUR]
[LOOPHOLE]Don't ask me what happened before NetherReactor.php was created.[/LOOPHOLE]

Seriously, I never expected to be able to find such a coincidence when I was digging down the commit history. @Intyre you'd probably want to let this post remain here.
