Is the Amazon ec2 free tire enough for a server with 30 people on continuous for a month
Well that wasn't very hard
No, i use it for my mini games, many lags + many crashes..
It's good for a small server, but if you want a big public one, prepare to open your wallet.
Invoice by Amazon: 32 euro/mouth. For my small server
You don't just have to use amazon because it's a big host. There's many other hosts willing to take your money lmao.
Personal hosting FTW xD
prepare incoming gigs of bandwidth inbound.
Oh my god, that's extremely expensive (for a small/any PocketMine server).. Choose a new host!
My small server = 8 game servers / 8 rooms in one server
Hpoe Comcast is ready... (if it goes over wont be coming out of my pockets, just my grandmothers >:>
i had consumed 1.8TB of bandwidth last summer before 0.9.* update
I have ran a server for a few months, Comcast did not say a thing, it had 20 players and about 20,000 unique accounts
"Good news Granny, Comcast is updating their network and 1Gbps is now available at your house. Sure, it'll cost you (a lot) more, but on the bright side, the SECOND someone sends you mail, you will have it! I'm gonna need you to sign up now, don't delay".
Digitalocean is a good host. For $5/month you can run a stable, 24 slot server, and if you sign up with a referral code you get the first two months for free. You still have to do all setup and administration yourself, but you have complete control.
And if you're a student, you can sign up here and get $100 free credit
