well blame @EvolSoft for half of the config dont works
Great thread. I'm a teacher and have been running a pocketmine server for my grade 4s for the last 10 weeks. I'm still a total novice and learnt how to use slapper thanks to this thread. Need more awesome dads doing cool stuff imo!
You can use WorldProtect for this, activate gamemode in the config, restart, then set each world to the gamemode you want with "wp [worldname] gm 0". There's a wp.cmd.gm.exempt permission that you can give groups so they aren't affected when changing worlds. You can also protect or lock worlds (and give wp.cmd.protect.auth permission) to allow certain groups to edit a protected world (not locked), but be sure to ban buckets, lava and water which can still be placed unless you ban them with worldprotect or banitem...
As for SimpleAuth, if you install SimpleAuthHelper too, activate the permissions hacks in the config, enable lamer mode so people can still use /login... And you should be good to go
Yep worked out WorldProtect (great plugin) but for me SimpleAuth and SimpleAuthHelper were causing bugs so I removed them and used ServerAuth instead which does a fine job.
Had been playing around with 0.13 beta's as some of the kids who want to play are already on 0.13 so that slowed me down a bit. Unfortunately to work with multiworlds there doesn't seem to be a working method of keeping a saved per world inventory at the moment. So I'm stuck with creative or "exploratory" worlds until then. Still as there are quite a few bugs yet with crafting / mining etc. in pocketmine that may remain for some time
I must have a play with slapper, haven't yet due to 0.13. And I ought to have a go with pvp worlds as well. But it all takes time. And not many users as yet...
new user pro tip:
never ask why that thing isnt working /in pocketmine
You could get a plugin called "BanItems".
Guys, if you find bugs on ServerAuth plugin, please report them at https://github.com/EvolSoft/ServerAuth/issues
Thanks in advance for your contribution and help to improve my plugins
I'm sorry if I'm not releasing new ServerAuth builds, but I'm very busy with school and with a big project in Assembly programming language and I have no time to develop PocketMine plugins
i think u can use some plugin that limit ur kid to destroy the default world
[sorry for my grammar wrong (but NoCheat plugins from China but not free)]
PurePerms is good to limit what commands you can use. And WorldProtect has item bans
Not sure about preventing players using blocklauncher etc. or what you mean by TimerBan and xAuth.
I use SimpleAuth (I think, can never remember) to ensure each player has to log in with their own username/password and you can ban abusive IP addresses or player names etc.
Still all in theory on my server though, can't get the local kids interested in playing on it. Looks like I need that PvP world setting up after all
You could try getting some of the kids involved in choosing and setting up the plugins, maps, ranks etc. It's the kids themselves that will get others interested in s server, not dad trying to persuade them to join; plus it's a great way to start teaching them about how software works, the basics of code. My advice is to give a few of them some responsibility for the server, and help them figure out things that are too complicated. They'll make mistakes, but that's how you learn!
That would involved them actually logging in at all. Of the one's I've given the address to that have logged in (3 plus my daughter) they had a play for 30 minutes didn't like having to type /login each time and then haven't been back since
I see.... Then i think the only answer is to go back to simpleauth (from github) and activate the last-Ip authentication option.
Yeah already have. But my server isn't on 24/7 and I've been updating plugins / pocketmine version etc. regularly so not stable enough for this to really help. I'll probably set something up to get them playing, some kind of competition or something. Mostly it was for the tech fun for myself of course but I would like the local minecraft playing kids to actually use it now I've built it
DM me all the server files and I will do it for you. And, replying to your above post, SimpleAuth says /register because you need to edit the messages.yml file.
Not to worry I resolved this a while ago.
The only thing I really want is per world inventories within MultiWorld. But at present doesn't seem to work with anything I can find.
